ABOUT DUKE ASUQUO
Duke Asuquo is a prolific classical vocal performer, aiming at promoting the Art of the classical, gospel, and choral music in Nigeria.
Mr. Duke Asuquo is a graduate of the University of Calabar, Calabar from the department of Computer science.
In January 2013, he joined the multiple international award-winning choirs, the Lagos City Chorale, and received professional training from the musical Director Sir. Emeka Nwokedi and has since then been the lead Tenor singer of the group.
Mr. Duke has traveled with Lagos City Chorale and has performed in various international competitions including:
1. Graz Austria: 1st European choir games in 2013 (2 Gold and 2 Silver Medals)
2. Riga Latvia: 8th World Choir Games in 2014 (3 Silver Medals)
3. 2nd European Choir Games in Magdeburg, Germany (3 Gold Medals)
He has performed in numerous concerts as a soloist. He is also the host of an annual Christmas concert themed “A musical night with the king” which has been on for three (3) years running.
He has a broad range of repertoire for several kinds of concerts and events. These include classical music, Broadway music, Contemporary music, Folk, and Indigenous African music.
Duke Asuquo is a composer, conductor, and songwriter who has released two singles – Emenere and Akamba Ete; and was an awardee at the 2017 Top Naija Music Awards, winning the Best Gospel Single with his song ‘Akamba Ete’ and in 2020, he participated in the season 2 reality show edition of Hymnodia and was the 1st runner up.
He is married to Mrs. Chimamaka Duke and they are blessed with a son – King Duke
